Fast forward. A cheap DESMI litter trap was installed in December 2012 as part of the City's concessions to reduce the amount of storm water litter entering Dog River. A year later and the City's only litter trap is still not working. The trash pollution is not being filtered out. The storm water trash has yet to be removed by any means. I'll be happy to file another lawsuit against the City of Mobile. Any environmental lawyers willing to help?
Why should anyone in Mobile reading this care? If the City of Mobile arrogantly ignores the storm water pollution of their local waterways in residential neighborhoods despite a lawsuit, don't forget that Big Creek Lake is filled by storm water runoff too. What's in your drinking water? Whatever crap flows out of the roadside ditches and the photos below should give you an idea of what is probably going into your drinking water supply.
